\|Personality= Mary Ellen lead a somewhat sheltered life, never leaving her home state of New York. Despite this, many would say that Mary Ellen had the spirit of an adventurer. The new and different fascinated her, often living vicariously through her husband's stories. \|Personality= Mary Ellen lead a somewhat sheltered life, never leaving her home state of New York. Mary Ellen was a loving wife and would likely have been a doting mother. Although she typically had a soft-spoken nature, family friends were acutely aware of who the 'alpha' was in her marriage. Mary Ellen had little tolerance for trouble, and when she was unhappy she had no problem letting James know it. Mary Ellen was a loving wife and would likely have been a doting mother. Mary Ellen Murphy fell in love for the first time in her life at the young age of 6- the day the Hunter family moved in next door. The object of her affection, a young boy named [[James Hunter\|James]], was oblivious to the sweet girl's feelings (as many young boys are). Mary Ellen didn't care. She followed James around, listening to the stories of his homeland in England. By the time the kids were in high school however, Mary Ellen had blossomed into a beautiful young girl and was the apple of many a boy's eye- but her affections never wavered. It wasn't until he went off to college that James realized just what was missing in his life. Spurning his parents wishes, James returned to Mary Ellen and professed his love for her. Mary Ellen Murphy and James Hunter were soon wed and left to begin their lives together.
